run

i been fishing all the tribs who known's when. the water is low now but look out when it comes up. steel do not spaw until the water gets down to cold and then they make a trip up stream. some come in to maker there spot but what you see now it,s nothing. you see. this is not a dream on .need rain and cold to set them to run all the way up . you see

    I disagree Peacy.
     
    I might not of been chasing steel as long as you, only 18-20 years, but the fish come  every year about the same time.
    If the water is up, they cruise right along.
    If low, they stack up at the bottom end.
     
    They're sitting ducks right now, and getting picked off pretty easy by the hordes.
    Less fish will get up stream if it doesn't rain soon, cause many, if not most will  be leaving on stringers before they get a chance to spread out and hide
     
    and that ain't no dream-on....

    I agree, some will make it, lots will not. I made the change over from steel to fall walleye. They are also a challenge in this low gin clear water.

    Nice poem Tippy.  Maybe you should quit fishing and become a poet.  At least you'd be good at something.
