Anyone heading north this weekend

Was going to head north this weekend but this screwed up weather warm and dry crap is preventing me.  Was heading to olcott no water up there either.  Matbe just save some bucks and go up 3rd week of oct,  Heard nothing good about the creeks either erie or olcott/18 mile..

I'll probably head mup erie. Fish in the morning till the sun comes up, then drink some beer til the evening bite. A few of us were gonna go up olcott this weekend also til we seen the weather forecast.

Heading up on Thursday night . Camping at my buddies by trout run . Guaranteed; with a little patience the tight lines will be waiting. Flow or no flow fish are waiting.

I'm heading north...........but only to Wilhelm.  I have a club tourney there on Saturday.

Will be heading to Erie on the 14th though.  Presue Isle Bassmasters is having an open tourney......Bay and Lake (weather permitting).

I don't know where you live but why not take advantage of this weeks trout stockings?

I was actually slightly considering coming up again this weekend but I just can't justify the gas money given the conditions and amount of other anglers fishing beside me. To me it's just not worth it, especially when there's just been trout stocked on several local waters.

Steelhead are really no harder to out-smart than stocked trout.

Based on their size and power I'd rather catch steelhead, don't get me wrong. But I, personally, would rather do so without the company of a large scale army in a 300 yard stretch of 'fishable' (and I use that term rather loosely) water. To me it's borderline butchery.

Decided a few hours ago to make the trip to the tribs. Going up with Panfisher from Somerset County just for the day. Need to see if the fly rod still works so that when there is better fishing I know it will be OK. Good day to get a sun tan(80+degrees). I'll take my lotion along so I don't get burnt.

Ya i prefer a good flow too makes a great drift then.  Fishing in a puddle with a million others isnt for me. Cant wait until they are way up above the r,r tresle.  Im going to head to olcott 1st then if the fishing is slow there head down to erie for some action.  Next weekend and the 3rd weekend should be great.  Have to get muzzleloader season in 1st.

It appears like we've got one more day of hot weather and then some much needed relief. Aside from tomorrow, the ten day forecast looks excellent with three or four days of forecasted rain, hopefully it's alot.

that's what we did. We caught a handful of nice rainbows.
My first fish with a fly rod. it was a nice day.
had a little bit of rain in the morning, which was unexpected because it wasn't in the forecast.
but we could certainly use more rain tho, the creek was low and clear.
I saw quite a few dark, beat up trout in there too, but the ones we caught were colorful and looked nice and healthy.

Get in your boats guys.  There are a TON of fish in the 1st ditch.  Drag some spoons around and you'll get your trout buzz workin'
