Help Out A Brother?

My Dad & I are going to be chasing some chrome in November.  The Green Roof Inn is booked.  I was wondering if anyone could recommend a motel/hotel close to the Elk/Walnut?  The Green Roof Inn recommended the Sunset Motel...which is at the PA/OH border.  I believe the Best Western is much closer.

Thanks,
Salmonstud

    stud,
Don't think it's the BW any more.  It's still the Presque Isle but no more BW.  Call way ahead of time for res.  Now if you are looking for NICE places to stay I have some suggestions; or are you just looking for inexpensive.  Also be advised that Nov is when the Canadians start coming down by the bus loads to shop, so rooms are scarce.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.  I booked with the Best Western (Or what use to be the BW) on Sterrenntania Rd. in Fairview - which is I believe is very close to the Elk.  I stayed at the Green Roof Inn last year & it wasn't bad.  Regardless if they post bogus posts about numbers of fish...it was a cheap clean room....which is all I'm looking for when I smell like steelhead at the end of a long day of fishing.

I've always stayed at El Patio Hotel when in Erie, but this summer I was in a room with black mold on the ceiling. I'm not looking for fancy, but I do like clean. I'll be looking for a new place when I come up for SteelHead this fall.

    Gentlemen,
Don't know what your likes/dislikes are but I have found that the Marriott Residence on Peach Street is one of the best (and most expensive) hotels in Erie.  Since I only make one or two trips up per year I can save, and save , and save and be able to afford the rooms.  The Clarion isn't bad either.  The whirlpool baths in the rooms are great to soothe a tired aching old body after a day falling down on the tribs.
