What's in your Fly Box?

As always....    I am going to use size 16 .....

    1.  Sucker Spawn.
    2.  Nymphs.
    3.  Egg patterns.

#1 with scent, and all with enough weight to just bounce off the bottom.

I'll change color and pattern if I don't get a hit in 15 minutes (thanks to a great guide named Don).

What's in your box?

Throw in a couple of woolly buggers, estz buggers and streamers.  Sometimes when the egg patterns are not working try something large and totally different.

Oh yea, some soft hackles can be just the ticket when the steelies start to get lockjaw.

I was recently taught how to create a beautiful stonefly pattern by weaving the body with two colors of embroidery floss, dubbing the thorax, hackle for legs, and various materials for a shellback, all on a Mustad 9271 in a size 12. I particularly like the "Montana" version in black and gold. I wil cry when I lose the first one. I'm laoded for bear with nymphs, wooly buggers and another new on for me - clousers. I cannot wait much longer to wet a lin in the Erie tribs.  Fishmonger

Hey hef,  Dont forget the glow bug. I recently started fishing them tied with "mc fly foam", in the color cream or very light pink. Believe it or not in a size 14 or 16, i can keep up with the guys using single eggs in gin clear water. Give it a try, it out fishes sucker spawn for me, but then again confidence in what you are throwing is very important.
