Notice of Annual Meeting

Notice is hereby given to the members of Trout Unlimited, a Michigan non-profit corporation, that, pursuant to the
provisions of the bylaws, the 47th Annual Meeting of members will be held for the following purposes:
1. To elect the following Trustees for two-year terms, beginning October 1, 2007 and ending September 30,
2009. Candidates nominated by the Nominating Committee include:
a. Loren Albright, Sandpoint, Idaho. Owner of
Albright and Thurston, Inc. and Ponderosa
Development Corp. He has belonged to TU for over
20 years, serving as Chapter President, State Council
Chair and Regional Vice President. Also serves on the
Rock Creek Alliance, a non-profit group fighting the
Rock Creek Mine in Northwest Montana.
b. Jan Allardt, Greenwich, Connecticut. Mrs. Allardt
has been active on Connecticut water flow and water
quality issues at both the local chapter and State
Council levels, organizing restoration projects and
advocacy campaigns. In addition to her TU
involvement, she is also an instructor for the Casting
for Recovery and Becoming an Outdoors-Woman
programs and a board member of the International
Women Fly Fishers.
c. Paul Doscher, Weare, New Hampshire Vice
President of the Society for Protection of New
Hampshire Forests, a land trust, in addition to writing
a regular column on conservation for the Concord
Monitor. Mr. Doscher has served at all levels of TU,
most recently as the New Hampshire NLC
Representative and on the Stream Access and Land
Conservancy workgroups.
d. Mark T. Gates, Jr., Palo Alto, California. With a
background in corporate law, with emphasis on airline
and banking law, Mr. Gates continues to be actively
involved in the ownership, development and
management of commercial real estate partnerships in
the San Francisco area and southern California. As a
passionate fly-fisherman and outdoorsman, he has
focused on land conservation and stream restoration
in Idaho. Currently serves as Secretary of Trout
Unlimited.
e. David Goeddel, Ph.D., Hillsborough, California.
First scientist at biotechnology company Genentech,
founder of Tularik, Inc and is now managing partner
of The Column Group, a healthcare venture fund. Dr.
Goeddel has received numerous awards and honors
for his pioneering work in biotechnology including
election to the National Academy of Sciences.
f. Sharon Lance, Centennial, Colorado. Mrs. Lance
has served at every level of TU volunteer leadership in
Colorado from Chapter President to her recent term
as council chair. Her involvement includes advocacy,
capacity-building, training, education and restoration,
particularly in Cheesman Canyon. Professionally, she
is a principal in a financial planning firm.
g. Eaddo Kiernan, Greenwich, Connecticut. Mrs.
Kiernan is a Connecticut based angler and passionate
conservationist. She received a B.A. from Duke
University and a Masters from Tulane University. She
has served on various non-profit boards including
Greenwich Audubon and Ronald McDonald House of
New York.
h. Paul Maciejewski, Elma, New York. Member of
Trout Unlimited for over 25 years, and he and his wife
Dee have been Life Members since 1984. He was a
National Director from 1985 until reorganization,
New York Council Chairman for six years, NRB
Director from inception until 2000 and is active in his
home Chapter. Also serves as the Northeast
Representative on the Embrace-A-Stream Committee.
He is a retired Chemistry and Science teacher in the
suburban Buffalo area.
i. Mike Slater, Traverse City, Michigan. Director of
Engineering Services at Mansfied & Associates, Inc.
Former Director of Public Services for the City of
Traverse City and Engineer/ Manager for the
Kalkaska County Road Commission. Holds degrees in
Civil Engineering and Business Administration.
Founding member of the Adams Chapter TU, former
Michigan State Council Chair and former NLC
Representative for Michigan. Enjoys fishing, skiing,
backpacking, travel, and restoring vintage automobiles.
j. Rick Murphree, Knoxville, Tennessee. Corporate
Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager, First
Horizon National Corporation. A TU member for
over 25 years, he is a founding member of the
Bluegrass Chapter (Lexington, KY) and has since
served as a Chapter President, Tennessee Council
Chairman, 1997 Annual Meeting Chairman, Regional
Vice President for the Southeast, and National
Resource Board representative. His many other
volunteer activities include Habitat for Humanity and
the Downtown Knoxville Sertoma Club.
k. Michael “Squeak” Smith, Morganton, North
Carolina. Mr. Smith is a retired Captain, U.S. Air
Force. He has been an active volunteer for the last 15
years with the TU’s Table Rock Chapter, North
Carolina Council and the National Resource Board.
He is also involved with the Muddy Creek Watershed
Initiative, Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina
and a number of other North Carolina environmental
organizations.
l. Elizabeth Storer, Tucson, Arizona. President of
Storer Communications, LLC, a communications
consulting firm. A former fly fishing guide and avid
conservationist, Ms. Storer was the first woman to
represent the U.S. in the World Fly Fishing
Championships in 1997. She currently serves on the
board of the Wyoming Chapter of the Nature
Conservancy and as Executive Secretary for the George
B. Storer Foundation. In addition, she is a contributor to
“A Different Angle,” the first anthology of fly fishing
stories written by women.
m. Mark D. Ullman, New York, New York. Mr.
Ullman is the managing partner of Clearview
Associates, a private equity consulting and investment
firm. Prior to founding Clearview, Mr. Ullman was the
President and co-Chief Executive Officer of
TradeOut, Inc., a leading online exchange for excess
inventory and off-lease assets. Before joining
TradeOut, Mr. Ullman was a Director (senior partner)
at McKinsey & Company where he founded and led
McKinsey’s Buyout practice and co-led McKinsey’s
Merger, Acquisition and Alliance practice.

adjournment of said Annual Meeting.
