theft at walnut

Witnessed the aftermath of the theft of a truck in the parking lot of walnut. Guy goes out fishing comes back to find somebody has stolen his truck and left his trailor. The gent calls the state boys and an after hour later still no cops and pitch dark. Many lights are down at the lot but thats another subject. thought I would give everybody a heads up. Beware Fisherman.... ( by the way that was 8/26/07)

That is sad to hear that news.  I have heard of people loosing rods and reels and other tackle there, but that is the first report of a vehicle being stolen.  My truck was broken into at the conrail tubes on Walnut a few years ago.  Be care and hopefully the police will be a bit more present.

You really have to watch Bull Dam. I've had three friends get their vehicles broken into there in the last ten years or so...

No bagger, I kind of mentioned that to him jokingly it deffinately was'nt you could tell the guy was pretty well off. But very ****ed off. I don't blame him. And the cops really lagging made it twice as bad, even the fishcops were a little miffed.

I was up the big pond about two weeks ago. I put in at East ave. about 5:30 am. Before I got there a few guys jumped in someones boat that was at the dock and took off while the owner was parking the trailor I guess! The Coast Guard got them though.

    Do they still hang pirates????

And I thought I had it bad last year.  I came back in to find that someone had cut the hook off my winch.  And I was getting ****ed out for taking so long at the dock.  Now everyone knows why I'm packin' when I go fishing.

Bottom line is it is up to us to police the area's we want to keep safe for our use.

If there were thefts in my neighborhood I would be more vigilant, thats what has to happen here until the scum bags are brought to justice. I'm not sayin we should do this vigilante style, just be more aware and watch out for each other.

It5 is actually XTP. They are like hydrashocks .357 180GR

They sell the bullet for reloading only.
Yes it will fit in any .357
Winchester Ranger Talons might also be about the same.

According to the original post the guy went fishing and came back to find his truck gone.  It would seem the .357 or whatever gun you might want to carry would not have stopped the theft.  BTW - I am no legal expert, but as far as I know deadly force can only be used as the last resort to protect your life or the life of someone else.

Tippy's right about policing ourselves.  Most theives don't like to be seen and if they know people are watching the area carefully, they will move on.  I do think that the police should do a few more drive throughs and maybe have a Fish Commission officer spend more time in the area.

Pghmarty, was talking about your scope. Nice looking bullets though, what kind of powder you load with them and how much? I usually use Alliant 2400 and bulk 158 grain JHP from Gorenflo (cause I'm cheap) loaded at 13.5.

Bughawk, your right, but it's still fun to talk about. Alot of times it is the show of force not the use of it that works

    Don't remember the details.
It has been about 2 years since I reloaded.
Factory ammo is ok but some of the loads I like they don't make or are very expensive.
.454 Casull, 50AE and .44 300gr for the Desert Eagle were lot cheaper to load-but I sold all 3

Here is what I keep in my SIG 220

I think we need a collective, "Never mind!"....

Of course, it is a bit scary to think there are a bunch of guys running around the creeks carrying guns.  Some may find some peace of mind with that, but it really is rather unsettling to me.  If you do feel a need to carry a gun, please be careful and I pray you will never feel the need to use it.

    Marty,
Winchester stopped production due to political pressure, but they repackaged all the leftover stock and renamed them Winchester Ranger. From time to time you can find them available on Cheaperthandirt.com mostly in .40 S&W. I usually buy 2 or 3 boxes whenever I see them for sale. My S&W  .40 Tactical eats them up and they are truely DEVASTATING!!! I only wish that I could find some for .357mag as I have a Taurus Total Titanium .357 snubby which I prefer to carry.
