very few boat launches arent entertaining. whether it be yourself or somebody else, there always seems to be some mayhem sometime during the day. walnut is a circus on the weekends. if youre in pittsburgh and would like some boat launch entertainment go to the southside launch on a weekend. total chaos.

The launch where the yough dumps into the mon.  (mckees port?, flash whats that called) is very entertaining.  Watched a guy step on his outdrive to lower it into the water,  boat was in gear, living dangerously.

My buddy in NY, on two separate occasions, had clients help by unhooking (unknown to him) his safety chain and winch strap.  It didn't drop on the ramp, but there was some scrambling to catch the boat

Some people think that just because they own a boat, or have been boating, that they know their way around YOUR boat. They don't realize that every boat (and it's motor, accessories, and trailer) is different.

My launches are VERY entertaining!
Watched a guy lauch his car and when they got it out the trailer was gone. I think he did a few things wrong there.

Everyone had their own procedure, and it don't take much to throw a monkey wrench in to the whole works.  Someone elses actions made him look like an amateur.  Really looks bad when it's a guide's boat flying off the trailer like that.

Boat Off Boat On Just like Mr. Miyaki Says! When I launched this weekend at the nut it was fairly smooth except the waverunner in front of me four guys and one girl with two being in the water to get the waverunner on the trailer! Beginners can't say I've ever been that bad! I always try to help because some people really need it.

I try not to put in on weekends anymore. and always get there early. On many occasion i have helped when someone is having a time getting their boat back on the trailer, maybe someday we'll need the help and it will pass on. The frustration level on us that are waiting probably pales to the level of the one in a jam. BUT, then there's always the nit that just doesn't care (those are the ones that need the most help and if I'm in a position I try to oblige) There's good and bad in all we do.That being said, it's fun to watch the show but better to help and put an end to it.    Dave

Had to cower in the bottom of the boat once and hide from the onlookers.
My friend had launched his boat without putting the plug in. The boat was slowly taking on water at the dock.(no bilge pump i guess)We tried unsuccessfully to put the plug back in, So he went to get the trailer and load up and drain the boat. He missed the ramp 4-5 times. In the process a car had loaded a large boat and was trying to pull out of the ramp but got stuck because the weight from the boat transfered to the car and picked up the front wheels.
Now he unhooks the trailer and pulls the car out. Hooks back up and finally gets the trailer in,we drain the boat . Thank god he only pulled straight ahead so no more back up problems.
Okay lets go fishing. We get to our first spot for crappies (4 mile run) and it begins to rain. So we open the DRY live well where all our extra clothes and rain gear are stored only to find everything soaked because of the boat taking on water.
Hate to say but that was the last trip we went with him..Some fellas just make poor captains.

It is a scream when a thunderstorm comes up on Raystown on a weekend and some dope ties up all three lanes trying to get his boat out. (Snyders Run Launch)
