WTB

I'm looking for a 14 or 16 ft aluminum boat. Don't have much to spend but would like to find something I can fix up and maybe do some slab fishing. My new years resolution for this year. Can email me at t.bowow@outlook.com thanks

I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that! Just meant Craigslist is usually the best place for project items. Sorry if I offended you!

What rules?  Actually,  now is the time to start.  Good luck with your search.

Thanks Walleye Jigs, no offence taken. I've been on craigslist for a couple weeks and still looking. Maybe I'm being to picky but some of the prices they want just seem a bit much. I don't mind working on a used boat but building one from scratch and paying what some people want is outa my league. I'd have to give up eating for what some of them want. lol But thanks for the input.

If you're located any where near Cross Creek puddle, oops, I mean lake check with Mike at the bait shop. Sometimes people will leave their boats over there for him to sell, just never pay his asking price he lives to haggle. If he doesn't have any he might be able to direct you towards someone who does.

Know nothing about the boat, but if it includes the trailer not really a bad price.  Sounds like the seller is being up front with any issues.   Of course distance you will travel would be a factor.

Toss out some ideas of what you are looking for and maybe a budget figure.  Lots O guyz on the boards will be happy to keep their eyes open.

At any case float the boat before you buy.

Oh, in your budget, don't forget to allow for title transfers and registrations.

I travel all over the western part of PA for my work, I see many small boats for sale...

What kind of price range are you talking?
How far you willing to travel?
    With motor or without?
    With trailer or without?

I'm asking because I've seen a few 14's in yards without motor & trailer for under $150...

I will e-mail you pics & info as I run across them!

I'll travel within 200 miles to find a boat cheap with a trailer. I'm ashamed to admit it but I only get a VA ck so not much to spend. Has to be aluminum tho, I have a 98 Honda to tow it with so its gotta be light. love if it had a motor even if it didn't run. Use to work on them so i'm not afraid of a challenge lol. Really appreciate the help from all of you. Thank you

If you look at a boat and Trailer in Ohio make sure there is a title for trailer. In Ohio they do not title boat trailers. It can be a real Bogger to register a boat trailer with no title in PA.

Let me go a bit further than Eppy... BUY NO BOAT FROM OHIO AT ALL, EVER.  Seriously, unless you know for a fact from your own experience what papers you need to make it right in PA, or you plan to never get stickers or sell it, avoid Ohio boats.  This is first hand experience with the insane bureaucracy that is PA vehicle registration.  And by the way, if you think you are covered because you called your local notary and they told you what you need, good luck with that.  I've talked to dozens of places and several people at each place and every last lying one of those bastards told me something different.

    Good luck out there.

Oh!  Forgot a huge peeve... people who advertise that their boat/trailer "has new stickers" or "registered through 2018" when that doesn't make a bit of difference.  You can't run anyone else's tags, and you'll be paying for your own when you buy the boat.  Super hate that.

Thanks for the info guys. Was thinking of trying to get a boat from Ohio, now I'm sure I won't unless boat and trailer both have title. Sure hope I find a boat soon...season is just around the corner.
