I fished Friday around the rain that came through. Did okay but not good. Caught trout, smallmouth, white bass, eyes and a few crappies. All eyes were sub legal except one which I let go. Most were caught on minnows under a float. Other anglers had similar results. I'd check how many gates are open etc. before making a trip with all this rain coming. Hope this helps.

The Clark boat launch and ADA fishing pier are closed due to high water. Total rainfall for the past two days was 2.3 inches. Shenango Lake’s elevation is 896.32 which is 1.65 feet above normal summer pool (894.67). All 7 sluice gates are open to 1 foot each. The downstream river level was 4.85 feet, and the river level at Transfer was 3.12 feet. Air temp was 65 and Monday morning water temp was 57. High today near 75. Weather forecast for today is 50% chance of thunderstorms with rain continuing the rest of the week. Mercer County is still under a flood advisory. Do not drive through flooded areas. Even if the water appears shallow enough to cross, don't try it. Water hides dips in the road. Worse yet, there may be no road at all under the water. Flooding can scour away the entire road surface and a significant amount of ground beneath. Six inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars, causing loss of control or possible stalling. If you see standing water on the roadway, turn around and find another route. For daily recorded lake information call 724-962-4384.

Great info Mikastorm, thanks! "All seven sluice gates are open to 1 foot each"? Sounds like tough fishing below the outflow for quite some distance downstream. Almost forgot, a different fisherwoman for you guys. She's been here before and it's been awhile, but like all of the others, she has class.

Chestnut Run swim beach opening will be delayed because of the high water. Clark boat launch and ADA fishing pier, as well as the Golden Run access area, remain closed. Current lake elevation is 898.63, which is approximately 4 feet above normal summer pool (894.67). All 7 sluice gates are open to 2.25 feet each. The downstream river level was 5.19 feet and the river level at Transfer was 6.04 feet. Air temp this morning was 58 and water temp, taken Monday morning, was 58. For daily recorded lake information call 724-962-4384.

I have the day off tomorrow. Looks like the shenango, as well as pretty much every other outflow in western pennsylvania, can get scratched off the list

Mikastorm nice fisher girl...:)
Thanks John. I don't remember who sent her picture to me as it's been awhile, but it's possible she came from you. I apologize for the long delay in a response time. Somehow I missed your post. There's a new one coming up, but not The Devil With the Blue Dress as many have exhibited a preference for. As always, she'll be back. I got a newer computer and I'm experiencing difficulty finding where the computer people put my files.

OK, finally figured it out, so there's a new Avatar now John. It was much easier finding files before, but as with any change, one will become accustomed to it, until things change again that is, lol!

Those are both nice shots Capt. Hook, but I particularly like the night time one. It has a mysterious look to it and reminds me of Zug Island. Thanks!

Thanks Mikastorm. I think she's one of yours actually. It's difficult to tell since you have a bevy of them and I can't keep track of all of your women!
