Non custom boat cover

Does anyone have a non custom boat cover that they would recommend? I'd like to get a custom one, but would run about $500 locally (Pgh area), probably a good bit less if I trailered to the highly reccomended folks up North. I'm not even sure how much longer I am going to keep this boat, so don't know if $500 is that good of an investment if I sell in 2 years.

I had one from (the sensored) sporting goods store, that lasted 2 years, then pretty much tore apart. I'm guessing that I could have doubled the life, if I tarped over it during the Winter and took it off while trailering.

Anyone happen to know how much the folks up North would do a 17' side console, not sure of width, guessing around 6'? Would it really be 1/2 of the Pgh folks?

1/2 of that $500 or maybe a bit more sounds about right for a simple job. If there are lots of rod holders and other things requiring additional fitting and sewing, that would make it go up a bit.

Its been awhile since Emanuel has done a cover for me. He'll be cheaper than that though and you'll get twice the quality. If you sell your boat you should be able to get the investment back.

I need to run up to Conneautville myself one of these days. After 2 years I'm finally satisfied that I'm done rigging the boat with new rod holders downriggers etc. Now I'll have him make a custom cover to fit over and around everything. From past experience I can tell you you're wasting your time & money looking anywhere else. He is almost half especially if you don't want it really customized to fit your holders etc. and just want to cover the boat. Remember too a loose fitting non-custom flaps in the wind which is the death of a trailering cover. A good fitting cover stays put & lasts way longer. 2 years with a non-custom and you probably won't get anything back when you sell it.

Call the boys a Conneautville canvas....I'm guessing around $300 for your boat. Like I.S. said, its worth the investment.
