Anyone know where and how much I could get a decent steelhead set-up? All I have know is two 6 1/2 ft. rods and I was told steelhead would snap them in half if I hooked up with one. Anyone know of a good 10ft pole or so and where and how much it would cost me? Also, if I use a 9 or 10 foot pole, what size line is best in order to land my first steelie? All info is greatly appreciated and for those that complain that I post to much, sorry that we all do not have the time to fish everyday and knowledge is key to any sport.

nEwBe1,
Just go up and use the stuff you have.  Then, observe, ask questions, and maybe if you ask nicely someone will let you try out their gear.  Then you can make your own decision.   Personally, I have both expensive combos and some very cheap stuff.  they all will catch fish.  I would advise starting out cheap, learning thchniques and then stepping up; IF you like the sport.
I would recommend Poor Richards (West) for a good rod/Reel combo.  Get some good line and ask questions there.  Also call Fishusa and ask questions.  Worm waster and the guys will not set you wrong.  Remember it is in their best interest to keep you as a satisfied customer who will return to buy the 600 dollar rig.  Good luck.

Speaking of Mitchell 300*s.. does anyone still use them? I have several I could sell for around $12 apiece and they are all in good working order. The only 300 I will keep is the old half bail model I tore a few cork handles up back when. as the bail came around to close .....    I really liked this until my brother used it one day and forgot and left it on car roof and ended up backing over it and breaking the bucket.  Super glue does wonders even back 15 years ago. I got it back in working order, but never found a new bucket for the half -bail model.... not even on EBAY!!!
