Fly guys... what is this?

I think I got this fly in a steelhead assortment a long time ago. Any idea what it is...

It's you needing to use the macro setting on your camera.

Seriously, I dunno.  It looks like a cockroach.  I'm sure it will catch SOMETHING.  Someone else will know.

Looks like it might the beginnings of a stimulater or something..?  garbage - chuck it.  All you need are egg patterns for Erie pellet heads...

I think the shrimp pattern might be right, but it is really hard to tell.  Tie it on and see what happens.  Steelies will bit just about anything if they are on a bite.

My weekends to fish are limited so I'll get up there whenever I can. I know what it's going to be like. I'll just make do and try to have ALOT of patience.

Maybe if everyone going would carry a five gal. bucket of water, dump it in when they get there, it would help? Just kidding, have fun.

You will catch more fish on that fly than any egg pattern under the current conditions.

Seriously though, the water is low and clear. Leave the yarn at home.
I have no clue what the correct 'name' is, but that fly will catch fish, IF fished properly. In other words, not under a beach ball.
