Hi All
Im a lifelong saltwater guy moving to Erie next week. need some good advice on a reasonably priced combo, lures, plugs, line and the like for targeting the various species that lake erie produces. I know Stellhead season is upon us but please dont limit your respones to that. I will be living not far from Presquile Peninsula and figure that will be the place for me to start. I am excited to get to know the freshwater side of fishing. Any info you can provide will be of great service and who knows that stranger standing down the shoreline next time your out might just be me. Thanks in advance, John

Combat fishing at its finest. But still enjoyable walk, walk, walk, lots of good hole further up the creeks when the water comes up ????

Salty, Where ya originally from(fishing waters) that is. You'll like the area your moving to and the abundance of fishing opportunities that will avail themselves to you. Good luck and, they are right , there is a lot of good info here but you have to step over the human flotsam once in awhile to get to the good stuff. Tight Lines, Ray

Salty, most of my saltwater was done around Cheseapeake Bay. The most fun I ever had was when the bluefish went crazy for about two hours one day in the surf. Using chunks of spots I couldn't keep the hook in the water for more than 10 seconds. A day that I will remember for the rest of my life. Ray

Hey Jumbo What part of Chesapeake Bay. I've fished the Hampton Roads area of VA a few times. Barrels of fun but I wouldn't trade it for a day at the tribs.

We fished near Port St. Charles, southern tip. Fished near Kiptopke(sp). and near Tilghman Island. I also enjoyed fishing off the route 50 bridge near Ocean City Maryland. I was catching things and throwing them back that was really pizzing the locals off. I later found out they were triggerfish and were good eating. To a newbie they all looked like they belonged in an aquarium. Ray

OK, I have arrived and settled abit. I still have to wait for an "official" piece of mail to estaablish reidency and secure a fishing license. I stopped into a B&T today but only came out more confused. (not poor richards which is less than a mile from here) Thanks to those of you who offered advice, Ill see you out there. **** sad Ill have to wait another week or so. I did cook my first Steelie filet thanks to 1 of the anglers I met at a function, it was very good. Sounds as though things have picked up since I last posted. ok

Welcome to the best pond to fish at! In spring it is unbelieveable for smallmouth in the bay during the spawn.
