emerald shiners

been reading about the recent shortage on emeralds.would it be possible to locate a ball of bait with a depth finder then either use a cast net or even lower a minnow trap & catch your own? I don't fish the big lake so if this sounds ridiculous have pity on me.     sam

    Hah all you have to do when perch fishing is look!...lol my last trip out there were schools and schools of emeralds swimming near surface...I mean hundreds of these things!!
     
    I dunno how you go about catchin them though...lol

    JLH, are they any good for perch 60' deep?  I couldn't do much with jigs . I guess I should have said that first.but still would like to know if anyone netted thier own out on the lake.  sam

    Buy some gaziki rigs remove 2 hooks and use 1/4" piece of worms on the other 3 hooks perch love them 2-3 at a time!

    SABIKI RIGS - Poor Richards golden shiners worked well (big fish) caught several at a time, also put wax worm and part of night crawler - all worked!
