My dad and I finish a day of fishing with a large mug of Budweiser and a double shot of Jack Daniel's. Then off to bed, I have to get to sleep before him. He snores like a chainsaw. We don't break with this tradition, superstitious I suppose.

"do you prefer Beer or Wine with Steelhead?" I really don't prefer to eat any steelhead, IMO not a great tasting fish. That said, I would choose to drink a brewski. Here is what I've been drinking lately: Pious Monk Dunkel (Church Brew Works Brewery), Saison Wheat (Yards Brewing), Rugged Trail Nut Brown (Troegs Brewing) and my favorite "session" beer, Natural Light on draft. I have only ever ate one steelhead. I will never eat another. But after a hard days fishing. I like a nice cold gunniess.

Pappy, I sure hope to attend. My plans are to be in Erie for about a week & a half off and on. I'll be up before the PSA picnic and I'll be there till after the One Fly, with a side trip to Tyrone to visit relatives.

I worked in bars and a lot of people 10 years older than me looked terrible.

If you like strong beer, try Erie Brewing Company's Red Rider or Railbender. Both have quite a kick.

whether its after fishing (sometimes during) or eating fish ill have an Anchor Steam anytime of the year. Im usually not drinking wine after fishing but with steelhead id go with a variety of whites like a pinot grigio or sav. blanc. maybe a pinot noir like a Willamette Valley from Oregon. and if im sipping hard stuff its a decent bourbon like Bakers, Eagle Rare, Knob Creek. Not far behind is Herradura or Chinaco tequila on the rocks with a lime. seriously who cares about fishing look at this thread it should be a booze review site not an erie message board....
