Canada has a two types of lisc.. During the summer The Sportsmen lisc. sets a daily limit of 5 steelhead and the Conservation lisc. sets a daily limit of 2 for Lake Erie. Don't know how many rods they're allowed but last I remember it was 1 per man.

Yes I know this ,I was there this year and got a conservation lisc. What I was wondering what does Canada contribute to the stealhead population.

The PF&BC has trapped and milked musky from Union City and Edinboro for as long as I can remember.

Now wait a minute.  Chip on my shoulder?  Aren't you the guy who made the half assed pathetic attempt at calling me on to a fight in my PM????  Ummm Yup!

It's no wonder you but the BS banner in your post.LOL, you really are mentally troubled aren't you?
I actually am feeling alittle sorry for you, but it will pass.
The truth behind the PM story is, I asked you to meet me face to face to talk out our differences. Its hard to talk to people with small man complexes behind computer screens, know wha I mean?
The next thing I know you start sending PM's to me saying I'm sorry, I'll never do it again etc. ect.
You were truly scared,LOL. all I wanted to do was TALK.
You must have been pushed into too many lockers in high school. LOL what a wimp.

Not to change the subject but. How do you know where the state line is out on the lake? How close do the fish wardens watch it ??

My GPS shows the NY border.  It is near the two towers.  If you are east of them you are in NY.  I've never seen a NY patrol boat around the border.  It is a long run from the nearest launch in NY.

Are there any reciprocal deals between the states that allow any valid license to be good on the whole lake? Like on Pymy.

No deals to my knowledge bings....As soon as you cross the border, you must posses the valid license for that state or country.  Pymy is the only exception I know of in our area.  Its nice to have the Navionics mapping where all borders are clearly shown with a dotted line.

Definitely NO DEAL.  That is why I own Ohio, PA, and NY licenses.  Not to mention that in PA you have to have a LAKE ERIE stamp, yet has the smallest share of shoreline between the 3.  For all that extra loot, can't PA at least build another launch FACILITY at Elk or start stocking browns or coho into the lake again???  Ohio doesn't, nor does NY to my knowledge.

Maybe it would be easier to buy some of that invisible-border lake water.  You know, just move those dotted lines a bit.

The only data I can find is from the mnr.gov in 1999 Canada stocked 150,000 steelhead in Lake Erie. From what I read Canada mostly depends on natural reproduction.

My gardening is done for the year I don't need any fertilizer! Most fishermen I believe are sportfishing and releasing there catch. Whatever steelies I catch you can bet you will have the chance to catch also! Good Luck Fishing!
