Ok, So I have watched most of the how to fly fish videos on Orvis and other websites. One thing it talked about was fly selection. It gave a tip to pick up rocks in the water you are fishing to see what kind of bugs are living there to see what the "local food" is. Makes sense to me. My "dumb" quest..

So, like many of you said would happen. I got a guide last year and mainly used the fly rod, so I am looking to buy one now. I found two from LL Bean that looked reasonable. Both in 9wt, one was around $140, and the other around $220. It is the rod, reel, backing, line, and taper? Is 9wt good enough..

Spin fishing single rubber egg for Salmon advice

Got up to fish for three days last week. Normally fish float reel for Steelhead in November. Checking licenses at the 81 hole
