barrel swivel for steelhead?

should I use a barrel swivel for steelhead? I am going to fish 20 mile with egg sacks and I am going to use a flouracarbon leader so I don't spook the fish. not sure if I should use a barrel swivel or not?..

Steelhead flouro on the spool

I get tired of re tying tippet to my leader in the winter months. Anyone out there had success just spooling flouro right on the reel? I may try this with seaguar 6lb invis x. Normally I use that line as my tippet, but I'm thinking about just eliminating the "middle man" altogether. Wh..

braided line

I have very little experience with braided line,so I am asking since it is supposed to be abrasive resistant,could I do away with wire leaders for toothy critters or is that asking too much of it. I normally make a short leader out of 20# line & don't have too many biteoffs.I normally cast plugs..

the little trout fishing that i do is done with a 5wt fly rod, but what kinds of spinning rods do you folks use for trout? ultra-lights or long rods? never thought about it much, probably will not do it, but just curious...
