I probably won’t go out until Halloween unless I start to get photos that are interesting. Bucks don’t live on our property, just visit.

Saw an 8 PT at 45 yds and kicked out deer on the way in and out.....most likely doe and fawns.  Was dodging a bunch on the roads in the morning on the way to the stand.

Saturday morning I had a turtle walk past my stand, Saturday evening I saw 8 gobblers and zero deer. My buddy from the east side of the state was in my other stand and he saw 8 doe, and had an 8 point that came walking in at 7pm. That 8 point is now in a meat locker.  

 Took a large U-Haul loaded with fishing lures up to my son's vineyard this morning. There was a very big racked buck in the fruit orchard standing about 10 yards from the refrigerated walk in meat cooler. Some nice ones behind my house this year. The apple trees are overloaded and the bean and corn crops are looking good. Plus prime bedding area with water supply. 

Went out Saturday with high hopes. Hunted morning and evening on two different properties. Cameras showed good movement at both during my last camera check. Ended up drawing a blank in the morning and one lonely doe too far away in the evening. Checked the camera cards while in the stand and activity really slowed to a trickle recently. Acorns are everywhere and the moon was bright. At least is what I am blaming my lack of sightings on and I am sticking to that story, lol.

I am running into that problem. 

There are zero acorns on our property this year.

Pulled camera cards on Sunday. 8 cameras, over 2,000 photos, zero bucks. They don’t live here, just drop by around Halloween.

My wife reminded me that even the small bucks go away every late September to late October.

Have done a few more sits. Last night I finally saw some deer. Had a big doe at 15 yards but she was behind me and I couldn't get leaned out far enough where I felt comfortable that my left crossbow limb wouldn't hit the tree when I shot. She then gave me another shot head on but I won't take that shot with an arrow. Had another at 48 yards but I won't shoot that far either. 

Had a good morning despite the damp conditions. Had a big dry doe sneak in on me and I managed to get spun around and get a perfect shot off at 20 yards. She made it about 60 yards and piled up. I cut the tenders and a backstop out and gave them to the landowner on the way out. Him and his wife are German and they were ecstatic. Took her to the processor and she will be donated to HUSH.
