Hey so I work 2nd shift and sometimes I'm super restless at night and would love to do some catfish fishing at night I just am unsure where in or around Buffalo is a good public area to fish at night would be, the regulations say that lake Erie and its tributaries are off limits for night fishing. Is there any general area I could go to? Also does anyone know if the pond off of the Audubon exit of the 990 is a good spot to night fish? Thanks for any help

You may want to re read the regs guide, that night time closure appears to me to apply to the tributaries, but not the lake proper.  Tribs are usually defined as starting at the first road bridge up from the lake.  I don't see any ban on night fishing in the Niagara River, either.  Finally, I don't live in Buffalo, but one place to fish for flatheads here in Rochester is the canal, no night closure there although you will want to be considerate of nearby residents.

Thanks that's actually really helpful! Someone I talked to said it also might be more towards boating.

The Cattaraugus Creek break walls would be a good spot for cats, it's a bit of a drive from Buffalo but there are cats down there.
Always people fishing around the parking area at Broderick Park on Unity Island.  There is a big eddy there. Might catch a sturgeon! You could try around the old ship moorings by Wilkerson Point off Fuhrmann Blvd.  There are always people fishing there as well.
