Looking for line recommendations... Tired of rats nests and bind ups. I usually use 2 or 4lb test. This is for stream fishing. Any recommendations? Braid possibly not out of the question.

Are you putting the line on in the right direction off the spool? Or might need to use a swivel to keep line twist down.

Maxima, people rip it alot but I never had issues with it. I landed quite a few 20lb plus carp on the 4lb with fluro leaders

Big braid fan here. As long as you don't mind tying a couple feet of leader on the end(uni splice for leaders of similar diameter, improved Albright for thicker leaders). Palomar knot if your tying straight to a swivel, hook, or lure. I like nanofil for casting distance, power pro is more durable. 4lb will straighten light wire hooks if you're snagged. Just watch for fraying and be careful of winding slack line onto the spool (happens often casting float rods upstream). It floats, which is great for float fishing also. You do need some type of backing on the spool so that it doesn't slip. 10-20 off of mono, or a piece of electrical tape are the norm. Another benefit is that it doesn't need replaced every season. Sounds like a lot to take in, but I think you'd like it.
