Ok so i'm not new to ice fishing, however i would not call myself a pro me and my buddy want to go out sunday either presque isle bay or misery bay, my questions are
1 what type of line should i use?  4 lb 6 lb mono fluoro?

2 jigs/baits? used to catch them on gitzits and grubs but heard  a lot about swedish pimples and jigging spoons any brand suggestions?

3 is there anybody that has recently been to either places mentioned? i would like to know how thick the ice is or if there is a way i can check like something before i go that i probably dont know about? lol

I'm a big fan of the Swedish pimple. When the fish are active they will absolutely crush one tipped with a minnow head. Reports I've read for the bay have the ice sounding sketchy from all the snow they got. Guys have been out, but watch your step and spud your way around. Good luck.

Number one a shanty, the ice in Misery bay seems to be the safest. The Panfish like plastics.

Water in the bay is very clear, I personally use 3 lb ice mono. I'd think 4 lb mono ice or soft water line would work. I'm not a fan of floro. It springs off the reel. Just my opinion. It might work better on a inline reel but not on a spinning reel.
