Hello,
I havent been up to New York fishing since I was 13 when my grandfather brought me to the Genny, and some power plant up there.  I am a avid fisherman.  I fish erie alot and travel all over PA to fish.  I want to bring my fiance upto New York to show her how big these Kings are and how fun they are.  However the last time I was up there I did not need a license and we were snagging them.  Any advice would be helpful so I can plan a trip to bring her up.  I am not sure of when the run starts I know its usually before the steelies and the browns.  I am not even sure what license I need for up there or the cost.  I would like to know some good place to take her to fish from land where she may get into some.  Also would I use the same flies and set up i use for steelies or are there better set ups to use for the kings.  I am not asking for someone to spot burn just some helpful advice so I can make this trip worth it for my fiance.  She only gets select days off and i want her to have the time of her life.  I remember when I was 13 I did.  Thanks to my grandpap.  Thank you for any advice you can offer.

YOU are welcome.  And people wonder why some of these " newbie trolling for info" posts never get answered.

Thank you for your information, this is the first time I have gotten on here where I could read the links you sent me.  Thank you very much.  I am going to read them then go from there.  One thing nice about fishing there is always new stuff to learn.  I appreciate the help

I haven't been to the oak in years.  My GF and I are going up the 22 and 23.  I have printed out the maps and am having trouble relating them to what I remember.
Question 1: I remember parking at an archery club and walking in to fish....is that still allowed? If so what road is it on?
Question 2: Any other suggestions on where to park for access?
Feel free to PM
Thanks

Archers club is $10/ day to park.  There is parking on the other side of the gorge...never parked there so I don't know how much is available. If you park up near the dam and plan on fishing there - you need a PFD.
