It finally came together for me this morning at 10:30. It has been a up and down first week for me this year. Opening day I called in four different longbeards, got shots at two of them, and managed to miss both. Needless to say that was a big downer but that comes with trying to shoot them with arrows.

Today was a definite upper. I started at the same farm I hunted on the opener in Washington County and did not hear a bird. I pulled out and drove an hour to Allegheny County to a area where I knew some were at.

I didn't get settled into the blind until 9:30 but late mornings a great as well, IMO. I struck this gobbler at about 10:25 an it took him all of 5 minutes to close the distance. When he saw my hen decoy, he did what they should as if on cue. Full strut and right into my arrow at 16 yards.

I got it all on video as well. Shot him with the TenPoint Vapor, Easton Full Metal Jackets, Shwacker 2 inch broadheads and Lumenoks. 19.5# and a 10 inch beard.

Here is a still pic I pulled off of the video just before the arrow was sent on its way.
