I was recently introduced to a micro plastic bait called Makiplastics.  I took them out and tried jigging with them off of some of the piers/marinas on Presque Isle and on the city side.  They were awesome.  I caught perch, rock bass, gills, bass, and even a few crappie at the north pier.  i really don't get into ice fishing a lot, but I know that these are pretty good ice fishing plastics, as well.  These plastics were just awesome! I just felt the the need to share this with you guys.  Here is the website so that you can see for yourself:

I use the butti the most.  I have also used the maki, maxi maki, and jamei - both with success.

How do you fish with those things? I've never used jigs of any kind for pan fish, but I've wanted to. I'm going to try ice fishing this year and I'm looking for ideas. Thanks.

The last 2 yrs I have been ice fishing for panfish using Northlands (I think) blood worms by Bro Brosenthal.By using ice fishing jigs & teardrops, they have worked very well on gills & crappie. These things are so sensitive that your pulse will make them quiver even if you are tryng to hold still. They work on trout also, but seem to get chewed up pretty quickly. If the fish are picky I get hit just by holding the rod still & tapping it with my index finger.  sam
