Hit Spier Falls Cove on Hudson River today. Ice is safe in the coves with a couple of small pike and one small perch. Unusual to fish live bait that moves upstream with the current, but ice is a good six inches thick. One other guy out and was awaiting the dark to try for some walleyes. Never had much luck with walleyes, but it was nice to stay in a warm car watching for flags until 10pm one night last year.
Also saw a nice 24" brown caught through the ice in that cove last year.
