I noticed that they had dropped the water in the Mohawk for the winter.  I find that this time is usually good for Walleyes until it ices up.  Anyone been fishing for them?  Of course, all that rain we received today will likely bring the water back up and turn it into what looks like hot chocolate!

Thanks Reel.  Guess that answers that question!  There was a guy named Artie that used to fish the SR all the time and put me onto the Walleyes in the Mohawk.  He used to flyfish for them and said he did quite well at times.  Not sure what happened to him, he sort of disappeared from the scene I think.

try right below the dams if theres no ice there yet.  ive done really good there.  however if your looking for a good place for walleyes try canadarago lake.  i caught a beautiful one there this summer 28.5 inches, 22 inch girth, 12lb 3oz.  on 4lb line and a night crawler.  it decided to hit my perch line and not my walleye rig.
