caught this nice lil pig on canadarago lake on june 30th.  was fishing with a friend who wanted to fish all the deep water near the island.  since it was his boat we fished there about 3 hours and caught 1 little perch that i hit in the side with a lure.  finally i got him convinced to go to the spot where i usually catch walleyes.  we anchored down and i threw in a pole for perch and bullhead and started casting a crawler harness.  my perch pole was getting pulled slowly and i thought it was the boat turning in the wind so i picked it up and started reeling what i thought was a crapload of weeds.  after a few cranks it started pulling so i adjusted the drag and started reeling in what i thought was about a 15-18 inch fish.  i had my friend grab the net and the light so we could get it in the boat because i was using 4lb line on an ultralight setup.  he got the net ready and turned on the light and there was a huge****walleye sitting next to the boat on the end of my 4lb.  he netted it but his net is a little old and the fish busted right through it.  then i managed to fight the fish up through the net where he managed to get it tangled up and we boated it.  28.5 inches, 24 inch girth and 12lbs 3oz on trout tackle!  its in my freezer waiting to go to my taxidermist at the momen.

Nice eye my friend, I usually fish around the island on the hard water, never been out on that lake in the summer but fish like that may force me to take the hour long drive down rt. 20 to give it a try.

i like to fish to the right of the boat launch.  a few hundred yards down the shore cuts back into a big cove and there's 4 buoys right there and that's where i usually get mine.
