Great! Thanks guys. There better not be a hurry since your generous enough to take your time and do it. I know I'm not in a hurry, and I do appreciate it.

Anybody do anything with double bunny strips?  Been checking them out online, send me a P.M. if you want, or maybe post a tutorial.

Thanks!

This may seem elemetary but can anyone give me some advice on what is the best technique to use when using mallard breast feathers as a collaring material. I'm trying to tie up a pattern I saw in the Orvis catalog called a Chicken Little and I can not get the mallard feathers to wrap in a satisfactory manner.

Thanks.

Buggerman, a few tips:

1: Wrap collar wet-hackle style. (Pull the fibers back against the grain, and tie in by the tip.)

2: Strip all fibers from the "down" side of the quill. For example, in a traditional setup, the hook eye is the rightmost part...when tying in by the tip, you'll strip all fibers from the far side of the feather, then wrap away from you.

3: Choose feathers with thin quills, and only use the portion of the feather with the thin quill. No good will come of trying to use a chunky-stemmed feather.
