So my budy and I are trying to figure out a spring fishing trip. Now we are up in the air to go to Ontario in New York Rochester or fish Lake Erie or Pyma Reservoir or fish in Columbus Ohio. I want to go to Ontario for the lake trout, salmon, steelhead and what ever else that are running the streams in that time of year. But lake erie we are familiar with the creeks and what are coming in. But with Pyma Reservoir we want to go for muskie. Now in Columbus Ohio (where I live right now) there are reservoirs that stock alot of fish and good numbers for Muskie and I want a muskie. So we are not sure what to do or where to go. I want to go back to my old stomping ground like Elk creek, wanut, and around Erie county but we also want to go for some good size salmon and lake trout. What are your inputs and feelings on the spring fishing in these areas if familiar with? Thanks

sooo....all spring and you got a 3 day hallpass? lol it sounds like multiple trips to me....id plan for a salmon trip to anywhere and a muskie trip to conneaut at the same time....and go with the one that conditions were most favorable. im not a huge fan of pyma for muskie....but thats me.

What do you mean by spring? March, April or may?

i dont want to totally hijack this thread, but i also have vacation fishing on the mind. my sister lives in rhode island. i dont really have any interest in saltwater fishing, but i was wondering how the trout and or smallmouth fishing in maine, vermont, and new hampshire is. i'm thinking about taking a week off, spending a few days in rhode island, then camping a few days in new england.

My spring trips consist of a few days in March and April fishing out of Oak Harbor then a week to 10 days in May out of Put In Bay makes for a nice spring.

I am thinking in late March early April of taking a four day weekend trip

Can't wait to get the spread out this spring.  3 rods a man in PA.  trolling spread just got wider! 

liveing that close to kentucky i would fish there.good musky fishing in march thru may,cave run resvior . crash mullins is running a pretty good special if u want a giude.but liveing that close would be alot cheaper on your own.good time to learn a new lake before the real season begins.
