Took a drive over to Sugar Lake this afternoon. Someone had been there Wed. and drilled some holes out from the boat launch. I poked a few holes in the ice also. The ice seems to be 2 1/2" or 3" thick depending on where you check thickness.

If you plan on fishing tomorrow or Sat.(10th. or 11th.) remember to drill or spud as you go.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Stopped at the Cochn. parking lot at dinner time lastnight..The shore has tightened-up, but the ice seems to be Just Maintaining.!! 2-2.5 in. Broke through with a roadsighn post at best North-end WIDE OPEN WATER..!!!! NW/jiggerman

Since then we've had some more cold nights...i'd say it'll be ready this weekend.

checked sugar out today 5" of chunk ice it chunked out when i drilled did hold me didnt want to chance it if it would get to single digits and no snow might be able to fish it
