Trout fisherman beware, looks like Penna. bait on Rt 899 sold its buisness and the new owner is thinking about not opening it up.

Wow - I always stopped there for bait. Keep us posted if you hear anything new.

the guy that owns that bait store is a whole saler also. he supplies most of the other bait stores around.
there is the one in marrienville that is usualy open 24 hours during regular trout season. if you turn rte in sigel at the light, when going north on 36, there are two bait stores on the right not too far.
if you start to fly fish you don't need bait

Blinking lite at Trumans store, make right and both are on the right, one is across the road from the resturant, the other is the campground, still mite be a problem they got there bait from Penna, wholesale bait which is closed. The one in downtown Marienville will have bait. Like DT said switch to flies and there are no problems.

I wasn't worried about bait for fishing...I used to buy minnows in 10 pound increments for stocking new ponds.
