Well i finally got my boat on the water today with 4 of my good friends about 0730 this morning. We had a great day right from the start. except for my kicker motor given me a little trouble. We caught nice crappies all day long with alot of slabs in the live well. We also caught 21 perch that were all over 12 inches. The only thing we used all day was minnows on a jig under a float. The day ended with 2 five gallon buckets full. Stay real shallow. I have military for the next few weeks so becareful and stay safe.

Thanks I spend alot of time on Erie and see some really big perch. The fish we caught were just as nice as the jumbos I catch up there.

We started out in 3 foot of water and caught about 20 nice fish but it slowed down so we went to 2ft off a point near the shore and thought we would have to deal with smaller fish but that was not the case. The big ones were there. When the fish would slow down we would adjust about 30 to 50 yards up or down the shore line and did that all day catching fish non stop in the process. We ran out of bait and had to get more I figured we went through 12 DZ minnows. We were at the linesville end of the lake I believe it was wilson bay. Remember this we had to deal with weeds and reeds and lost a few jigs and fish in the process. If we got out of the semi weedie area the fish were not as thick. Good Luck

Wonder how many people the fish commission is nailing due to that cold-water life jacket rule...

Rule does not go into effect until November 2012
