Took the boy to Wilhelm because he told me he wanted to go fishin for his birthday. (he turned 5 on st. paddys)

Did a little wading...


He hammered the gills & had a blast.







all day he kept mentioning the carp...'I'm gonna catch a HOG carp dad!'
I explained that I only brought the panfish stuff & left the heavy rod & carp bait / hair rigs at home...

and then....

just before we left...







What a fight with the 5' ultra lite!
...we never would have landed it, but he ran for the net back at the car while I held the beast at bay...

Too Cool! My boy just turned 5 on thursday, as part of his birth day i promised we would go after Crappies in my boat on crooked creek soon. Can't wait to see him bangin one after another! Congrats on a great day fishin with your boy.

That's one more Wilhelm carp than I've caught there the last couple years------not for trying.
I fished Wilhelm a few times this past Feb.(that's more than the past 2 yrs. combined) tryin' for a carp, since Feb. is the only month I haven't landed a carp from Wilhelm. But blanked every time despite being able to use 3 rods now.
Good to see the carp are getting active. Again, nice catch.

Had a good time at Max's party Saturday sonny ! .... Glad to see ya got to take him out feeshin' on Sunday. I know it made his (and your) days. Can't wait to hear Max's version of the fish story !!
