To bad you didn't follow up on your shot, thats part of hunting. I did not see any blood on the deers nose.So I guess you didn't center punch lungs.Buy some RAGE broadheads and you'll have less problems with a blood trail.I've never had a deer shot with a bow or xbow run more than 100 yards when I shot it right, dead deer, have trailed 4 or 5 for great distance and never recoverd through 30 plus bow hunting years. The last 6 deer including 3 bucks never went 40 yards "RAGE IN THE CAGE" Well spent $40 .Congrats on your Buck,Doc and hope you get your does.

 Hey-- sometimes when it gets dark the right thing is to wait and sometimes apparently not-always a dice roll. No right or wrong decision there- just the way it worked out this time..
 If the Yotes had been out in a field that night chasing mice it woulda been the right thing-- who knows.

Hey Doc- was thinking of you last night--- Ahhemmm
  My neighbor shot a 7 pt out back and left the trail when he jumped it just before dark.
 He and I went back out bout 9 to track-  had told him your story- and between the rain predictions and yotes every night out back we figured it best to take the chance on jumping it again,
 Got back in WITH the buck bout midnight. The yotes were on the cam when checked this am.

Yotes are on it, especially if you gut shoot the deer. I've had packs of yotes tryin to get on my deer. Get the lanterns, call your buddies and find that sucker before morning.
