Are you gonna be fishing the river or the lake?

You can literally catch just about anything at the outflow, anything from carp and catfish to bass and walleye. I personally struggle with the walleyes but I know theyre in there. I find that theres alot of wipers and i catch those on anything just about anything. Rapalas always work really good for me but I've caught them on rat l traps, spinnerbaits, and live minnows. I would assume spinners would be a good lure to try just because you can catch a variety of species on it. I'd be careful getting my bait/lure too close to the bottom though. I've only made the mistake a couple times but got snagged every time. Hope this helps!

the shenango giveth and the shenango taketh. you will donate much tackle to her during decent flows. but she rewards the patient with some of the best fishing days you will have. dont forget your camera.

I know I've caught wipers in other sections of the river during that time of the year so I would assume theyd be there but I'm not positive. As for the catfish, there are god numbers of them. I've always caught more later in the summer but I'm sure they're there all year.

I've caught wipers and whites in there May through October. More of them in late spring/early summer I noticed. There are lots of cats, in the outflow and farther down. Most of them are smaller, but there's definitely some nice ones. Also any place there is current you will find lots of small smallmouths. I don't have a lot of experience fishing for eyes there, but I catch them occasionally(in the outflow) last spring I did real good there before the season opened.
