I took my son to one of my favorite gillin' holes and he did pretty well! Check out his catch.

 
And he caught 3 of these too. They were all about the same size. They wanted to eat gills too!

First and foremost...anytime spent on the water with a youngin is awesome. Kudos to you for "passing it on". Big ups to the boy for rippin em up.
 
 those are the weirdest marked blue gill I've ever seen. Look like African painted dogs. What kind of water did u catch them in?

They didn't look like that when they were fresh. They were in a cooler for a while with ice and got a little discolored while Greg (my son) and I drove around to his grandparents', aunts', and uncles' houses to show them off. LOL! The water was a small bay off of a big lake. The bay was perhaps 50yds across and 70yds deep. The water was about 2-8FOW. Lots of weeds. All fish were caught with a 1/32oz jighead tipped with chartruese Berkley Gulp Alive 1" minnows, fished under a bobber.
