This year Oct1 I lost a container of mostly red glow bugs by the Rte 81 bridge.
Two years ago I lost the weight forward fly line with salmon attached and some red backing just below the Ballpark in Sept.
Sure does match up with some things found by uglyfish and Bigbear2010!!

No red glo bugs had some estaz and a couple of stones. That last almost me this year after a year of fighting lots of kings my fly line broke right at my nail knot my father was able to grab it he was a little up river and I pulled hand over hand for a bit then thank god it jumped and popped off I didn't want to be a hero I just wanted my line back.

Several years ago on the UFZ I had a King take a wooly bugger in the fast water below the wire and shake his head ,turn down stream and rip off my line and into my backing before I knew it.I started running with him trying to get my fly line back to the reel but could n't.By the time we arrived in the deep run below the fast water I saw that he managed to wrap the backing around a rock on the other side, there was no one over there to assist me so I tried to get the line free but the backing tore and the line was gone with the fish. That line was brand new and I had to get out and go buy another to fish again.I was not too happy about that.

I know how you feel. I was just below the ballpark when a king grabbed my fly and went down stream along the far shore line and under a tree hanging in the water. He took me into my backing so fast and I could never recover my fly line which broke off on the tree across the river at the backing. Couldn't cross the river at that spot. Had to go buy a new FW floating fly line. Cost $40.00!

Good thread.  I have been pretty lucky and not lost much more than a few floats and a bunch of flies to the bottom.  Did have a korker pull off  and not know it for a bit and thought it was gone, but on my way back to the car I back tracked and sure as shooting it saw it stuck in the mud.  I did think I lost a fly box over the summer, but I found it 2 days ago in the basement behind a cabinet.
