"Warren Ellis and his 10-foot-long camper were stuck on an uninhabited Outer Banks island on his annual fishing pilgrimage, the conditions too rough Saturday for the ferry to carry him to safer ground.
"We might not get off here until Tuesday or Wednesday, which doesn't hurt my feelings that much because the fishing's going to be really good after this storm. It's always good after a storm," said Ellis, 44, of Ammissville, Va."

This guy might be a Darwin Award  for 2012!  Sustained 75 mph winds as far as 100 miles from the center!  Gotta go tie down the boats!

the man better dig a deep foxhole and hope the storm blows over the top quickly so he doesn't drown in it.

Well, false albacore are starting to run , I imagine. One of the best fighting fish under 20  lbs. , but an outer OBX camping spot that isn't on the inner structure of a 75 foot inflatable  USCG cutter is kinda dicey. They have them on the mouth of the Merrimack and the Oregon Inlet on the OBX - the  two hairiest places on the east coast.  I've watched them climb the face of 25 footers. Absolutely nuts.  I feel sorry for the crews that have to risk their lives to rescue the arrogantly brain wrecked.  This nimrod qualifies for numerous awards.  Mostly ones that have prizes like  an eternity in hell. or a free watery grave site.

At which point, he  also gets the Darwin Award, given to the person who improves the human gene pool the most by removing him/her self from it!  One of the reasons I'm going with hip boots more, cut down on the odds.....

My time in the service alot of southern boys came up with a lot of things like that where you just stand there in amazement stretching your head like you didn't here that right.

The bad thing is the people that might have to risk their life's now. But I guess he got his 10 seconds of fame.
