The Little Lehigh used to be a prime brown trout stream, but then "progress" hit the upper section and it has been going downhill since. The last 5-6 yrs it really has degraded, when were you there? The lower river right in down town Allentown used to have a large population of lunker Browns but a shot of cyanide from Mack Trucks wiped them out, they never recovered. Now you have to pack a weapon to go down there.

Ouch!  It was quite a while ago, and it was upstream in a petting zoo downstream from a hatchery, but it was loaded with huge fish, there was a ngood hatch of mayflies, and there were also 17 year cicadas hatching, so the big fish were going after big stuff on top.  Above the Gennie gorge there are some places that I do not want to break down in, but A town sounds scary!

Funny how a bead is illegal but people put 4 3/0 on a leader and it sits on the bottom and when the angler sees a fish he back cast and boom fish on and no ticket. Even this year with the low flows people still had way to much shot on. Maybe my spots but I didn't see any DEC this year I wouldn't want their job

Lucky, you were fishing on the Heritage section,C&R flyfishing only.I USED to frequent that area but lost interest as the fish today run alot smaller and way fewer of them.I do however walk my dog there a couple times a week
Don't want to give you the wrong impression of Atown,it's not that bad but there are areas you want to avoid just like most cities today.

Sorry to hear about the decline, it was quite an experience, nothing like it in NY at the time.  AS to bad spots to be in, the ball park area about 5 weeks could have been a little hairy!LOL.

Don't get drowned by Sandy this week.  2B and me went up back in the early 80's one year for a week ans by the end of the week, where were standing at the edge of the Balck Hole on day 1 was 7 feet deep.  That river can really ROAR!

I'm just wondering after reading lucky13 comments about a warden suspicious of him lifting to snag. Do they know there is a difference in sports angler using different methods and technics or just picking on avid or expert anglers ? I mean how does one argue if a warden convicts one for lifting ? I would probably tear up any such summons and never return to Pulaski if I had even a close encounter with such agencies..Can't imagine that goes over well anywhere in the state but, than the sr is a zoo of all kinds of experts.

Not to bust this thread but, I do not bother with many other threads on fish usa. I just returned from four day fishing trip and two of us C&R only a few using plugs /jigs/ and trolled a few eye smb crappie and perch. I was wondering if fishing was also slow upstate where most here fish? Although the weather was warm and perfect everyday,, the fishing was surprisingly slow..not much top water action but the action was slow in the deep as well.. most action was shallow between main drops and shoreline. I think it might have been a poor lunar period and I suppose the pressure was falling but all four days? Anyway , hope next week fairs better after this crazy storm.
