hey all, was going to take the boat out to the clarion and fish the piney dam. This will be a new experience for me.... any advice on what to target/use as bait etc? I've fished the allegheny closer to pittsburgh and have had luck. Fished the clarion once two summers ago and caught a tiny perch and a small channel cat. Are there big cats/walleye/sauger in there? I just need a nudge in the right direction, and if anyone could dm me to provide me with that nudge, id be greatly obliged.

Above or below the dam?

Above the dam you have approximately 11 miles of deep water, deepest near the dam of course is around 90'. There is a variety of species from perch, bass (small and large mouth) and crappie to walleye and tiger musky and lots of cats and carp. For the pan fish, look for downed trees along the shoreline. Cats and carp can be caught pretty much anywhere using traditional techniques. Walleye and musky can be caught either trolling or casting plugs.

Below the dam, varying swift water that I fished once about 40 years ago so I can't help ya there...

we're actually above it right now... gonna give it a shot. Like to catch walleye, but for now, anything will do. Gonna give it a go!
