I am currently trying to find and catch all of the main species of fish in NW PA. I am not looking for exact spots as I will do my own work finding the spots but if you could give me the name of a body of water(ie Wilhelm, Shenango, etc) that is known to have the species that would be super helpful. With that being said I have not caught or seen the following fish:
snakehead
bowfin(geneva swamp I have heard and will be going up soon to try)
chain pickerel

Snakehead are not a main species for NW Pa.... you may find them in SE Pa, but more likely will have to go into Maryland waters

Sugar Lake would be my go to lake for chain pickerel pickerel

Bowfin in conneaut lake as well

Instead of people spoon feeding you. You can do a search on the internet yourself. You won’t find exact spots but you will find out what species are in the waters. Fish com webpage still tells you what’s there. What’s your definition of main species cause snakehead are invasive species.

Probably why I left and quite lurking around for a couple years. Seems dead

Cut bluegill or dead smashed shiners work well for bowfin aka dogfish. Conneaut is loaded with them. This time of year I would hit the channels where the water is shallow and warmer. Sharpen your hooks...
