Was out Friday night. Beautiful clear night and warm. Hot during the day.
Fished the treeline by the dam early. Was casting a buzzbait and stopped the lure by the boat to fiddle with my reel. Of course a sizeable pike was following it and lost interest the minute the lure stopped moving. I also pretty sure he gave me the pike equivalent of a middle finger.
Worked the lily pads at dusk in Trout Cove. Nothing but little bass--my guess it was still to hot.
Set up for the night across from NP. Alewives were there but activity seems dimishedโ-probably late season for them. Threw out some bait rods with chicken liver, cut bait and live alewives. Caught many bullheads, a few nice channels, dink bass and a hawg of a crappie (on an alewife). Mr. Wiper, as usual, did not make an appearance. Nothing on casted lures.
Pulled off the water about midnight. Ok night but nothing spectacular.
