it is a nice sized creek in these months but it becomes very very low in the late summer... and as for the fish, they are stocking it this coming sunday

I've fished Little Mahoning 3 times in March and have yet to see a fish...I'm Loaftech's "buddy who didn't see a fish."  I went yesterday afternoon fishing another stretch and got skunked again.  Usually when the water is low and clear, you can look down over from the road and see plenty of fish on the stretch just upstream and downstream from the Trout Unlimited sign, but I saw nothing.  At the very least I expected to get a chase using a streamer.  I've only been flyfishing for 2 years, but I've never seen the stream completely barren like this.  A fish commission officer stopped by my vehicle and asked me how I did, I told him I didn't even see a fish.  He said he thinks stream got hit pretty hard over the winter by poachers.  Its a shame if this is the case, Little Mahoning is one of my favorite streams

ya it is so nice to fish when the water level is decent... i have personally never seen any poachers or anything like that but when the water gets pretty low i am sure some raptors like the osprey or hawks can get the fish along with the herring and raccons and etc... i would personally say that the animals are most of the treat all because the water levels get so low...
