JUSTGOTAWAY...AGAIN
Hello everyone,

I've posted about pike fishing on this forum before.  Thanks to everyone who provided info.

Another question.  Does anyone know whether I could catch pike from shore at Conneaut this time of year?  Assuming of course, it is not iced over.

Also, any other lakes that may hold pike close to shore this time of year?

See ya.

where did u plan to fish on conneaut that isnt private property? its surrounded by houses. theres not many lakes around with pike in them but some rivers hold some decent pike around the area

where they recently dredged the creek is the only spot I know of. I have done very well there on almost everything. Should be better heading into the future now that they dredged it.

Where did they dredge a creek? I'm not aware of this. It's like Wade said, it's all private property, but there's a bridge around the lake I believe you can stand on, but there's heavy traffic on it. Your best bet is to wait until May and rent a pontoon boat.

you can cast for pike at conneaut lake park, the canal, and fireman's beach all year long.  Live bait or cranks.

I believe they did the canal next to the boat launch. I could be wrong, they could of done just the boat launch area.

i don't know for sure, but where would a fish be the least active part of the year with the coldest water?  Where would the bait be?  I doubt in fast water...  I would find a deep pool with a rocky point that sticks out in it and work that area with big live bait on the bottom keeping it in the stike zone for as long as possible.  Use a small float between the bottom and the bait about 2 feet up to keep it off the snags.  Throw it deep, work it back to the rocky point.  Maybe in slack water cover like trees or logs.  That's where the bait would be concentrating.
