Anyone able to give an ice report? I'd like to try either Sugar or Kahle tomorrow, depending on thickness/safety of course....

If it will help, a friend that lives across from the lake told me this morning that he could see 4 guys on the lake, but I have no idea yet on thickness. I will probably head over tomorrow.......

There were 11 shanties on the ice this afternoon.  Most of them down on the south end,  three were near the boat launch.
This is being reported from another site. I did not see these shanties personally.

Yep , pacuk   I was one of those ppl.   5-6 average of black ice............Had to be close to 12 shanties at one time  out there.............1 perch is all I could coax to bite    oh  well   still went fishing today   .....(  did you  ????? )            NW/

Fished Sugar from 3:30pm to 5:30pm
catch = many small Gills
             a few small Perch
             7 Golden Shiners
Ice =  5"  good black ice with snow cover
accessed at boat launch where snow mobiles were crossing the lake.

Was just at SUGAR LAKE for several hours and after talking with most of the guys that were on the lake nobody was having much luck. On my camera I could see very few fish but the ones I did see were eager to bite. I believe If you can find them - they will bite. We just haven't found them yet. Between two of us we tried about ten locations. The ice was about six inches with a little slush on top midway on the north side and a little less - about five inches - a little farther east ( by the Hotel ).

was at sugar yesterday 2/6/13  had good time on tip-ups dozen nice perch few nice gills 2 nice crappies and a bunch of little pan fish probably 10 fish on tip ups pickerels bass bullhead
