fished it mon. and today- the dam side is still open water , the east end has about 4-6 in. of good ice.

Anyone able to see if the ice made it through the last warm up?

Thursday it was open water from the Venango launch the whole way to the dam. The Clarion side had open water about 3 ft around the edges. Don't think I'd chance it. Maybe by tomorrow. IDK. I hope someone checks it today.

Wow, didn't expect that. I figured it would loose some thickness but not open up.
Have a friend that lives across the street from Sugar lake. I sent him a text this morning asking him if he could see anyone on the lake. He replied that he could see 4 guys. I may head there tomorrow, but I have no idea on thickness.......

If you could post what you find up there ASAP tomorrow that would be great... I might go up in the evening if its safe

Wasn't there personally but heard from a buddy that the Clarion end has good ice, varies from 4-6" and the shoreline is tight. Venango end from the north launch to the dam just froze over last night  so stay away from that end.

Went up last night 6" +,- 1" between launches. 4 other guys out... Didn't catch a thing

thinking about making the 2 hour drive up saturday just wanted to see how the ice is after the rain?
