was out there Saturday.  The place was a zoo.  Fishing was good till about 10 a.m. then slacked off, but it was great being on the ice.   5 to 6 inches of ice.

We went saturday afternoon,met a guy coming off that had a bunch said they quit around 9 or so.We caught a few, one nice crappie 12-1/2" and a gill 8-1/2" and  6 smaller gills and crappie and a bass 13-1/2".Went today caught the skunk,met the same guy coming off.He caught 5 early in the morning.Was nice to get out after no ice last winter and it was better than being at work.

I hit Kahle Saturday. We did pretty well with a mixed bag of perch, crappie, and gills. It was nice to scratch the itch!

I'm sorry bud. I just now saw this or I would have posted for you. The ice was pretty good with 3-4in of black with 3 inches of white over top.
 
 
Anyone know how bad of a hit the ice took? None of the ponds around here are opened up, so I can't imagine that Kahle is open. I'm sure that it's not safe though. Anyone look at it this weekend? It probably won't be good for two weeks though. Next week is supposed to be really cold. That's good news.

I got a report yesterday that there was a some open water on the North end and the shore ice was bad. Hopefully the ice that was left was good black ice and all of the junk melted off. I'm hoping that by next weekend, we will be back on it.

Thanks slabdaddy.... From Sunday till next Saturday up in Knox it's not supposed to get above freezing all week.... Hopefully Its solid enough to fish
