Just got mine also, real nice ties from all.But Gerry I have to say you went a step beyond, that fly case idea is very clever and will get filled with more flies.
Thank you very much for running the swap

Clint,
Those bodies are wrapped with Z-Lon/Antron.  The under body is built up with a staggered wrap of lead foil tape cut 1/16" wide.  Brassie wire is used for segmentation.  The thorax is trout ice dubbing, picked out to resemble legs.  The wing case is thin skin.

Clint,
Those little black stones should be very effective right now.  I saw a photo yesterday showing little black stones on the streamside snow.

The caddis pupa is tied with ostrich herl tail.  The body is made from a length yarn that you tie an overhand knot on the end then split with a dubbing needle to place rabbit dubbing in between the separate strands.  Twist tightly then wrap forward.  Dub thorax of trout ice dub.  You could achieve the same effect with Z-Lon or Floss.

True  that....... The case is nice and will be put to use.   Never heard of Z-  Lon,  now I have.   Kind of looks like that green bean I included that Charlie showed us.   I hammered on that green bean last time I went.
If the ice lets out I may head up if it is not too high.

Clint,
Just remember that the thin skin has a shiny & dull side.  What might enhance the thorax on those flies is a fly tying resin like Solarez.  Its a strong UV cure resin that you set with a UV flashlight.
