well i guess it really does have a buyer now
and not only are they buying the school property, but have made offers on others in the area

I have done some digging and cannot get a clue  of who the buyer is.   I have also heard the same.

well i heard yesterday that my buddy who owns the land across from the school, where i have a camper, got an offer by mail, i have not yet had the chance to talk to him about the specifics, but it does look like there is a real buyer at this point in time

Keep in mind that whoever it is, the easements that NYSDEC has on the PFR maps now are all attached to those properties in perpituity, so the access does not get reduced except where it was just being granted out of courtesy by a landowner.

I can't get PDF files (missing server pack) on my PC , so I used my wife's laptop to discover that there's no river left PFR from the bridge to what appears to be just short of the first wire.  That means the  left bank through the barrel and schoolhouse will likely  be closed.

Yup charlie, its always been that way. We've more or less just been fortunate. There are four properties upstream from the school in which the landowners dont seem to press the private property thing too much... two of them are friends of mine... the one property is for sale though so who knows what will happen there... based on what bear said i wouldnt be surprised if the new buyer is looking to scap that one up...

Call your NYS representatives and "politely" suggets that it might be time to spend a little more easement money.  The state has all kinds of cash when it comes to closing road access for hikers in the Daks in the name of Wielderness, maybe it is time to make more noise about putting the user fees we pay to work.

I don't know what's ahead for the School House property and adjoining parcels north and south but I fear that it may become another pay to play area.  DSR North?  I hope not!!!!
